The bones of the brand and product experiment/development have been underway for well over 2 years by now, but I have only just got around to the branding.
I do this for a living so you'd think it would be the easier thing, buuuuuut it's not.
I even thought about outsourcing it, but ultimately, this is my labour of love.
I knew I wanted to include antique lettering and design influence from the era in which my maternal grandmother's sister - Auntie Duck, walked the earth (more on both of those ladies later).
I found a photograph of the two of them amongst my Auntie Stella's belongings, the reverse displaying the most ellaborate and beautiful typography from a Photographic Artist of the time - a C. R. Stobin of Highland Road, Eastney, or Southsea.
Utterly inspired by this, I have digitally remastered various sections to bring Auntie Ducks' branding, and the spirit of my ancestors, back to life.
To accompany this, my nana Gilbert's tinkering ringing in my ears, I procured some gorgeous antique sheet music from a local charity shop, these designs lending further to the heart of Auntie Ducks' aesthetic and charm.
Stay tuned for updates!
Rebecca
