Hello, and Welcome.

Auntie Ducks’ is the result of over a decade of magical study, evolution and excavation of my family roots. Named after my paternal grandmother's auntie - my Great, Great Aunt Duck,

Gladys Olive May Beagley (26th May 1886 - October 1966) was a tall, slender, beautiful lady

that lived at 4 Tredegar Road, Southsea, and taught children to play the piano. I believe she harnessed psychic abilities and garnered this nickname due to the Romany term of 

 

Dukkerin’

(The in is English “ing”), any one’s fortune or fortunes, fate; fortune-telling.

This was the way in which Gypsy women earned their money.

 

​I grew up hearing tales from my dad, of Kings, and my wayward Grandad - a Ship & House painter, who often disappeared for months on end to decorate caravans with gold, read palms, and kept horses and carts at the end of George Street in our home town of Portsmouth

My dad was a sceptical man, but he would often describe family members having 'The Gift'. 

My Grandad died twenty five years before I was born, by the time I came along in 1984, our family roots had been hushed up due to heavy discrimination, and the genocide of Gypsies in WWII.

 

I discovered this only on a trip to Auschwitz when faced with the a sign that read -

‘We must rid the German nation of Poles, Russians, Jews and Gypsies’.

 

Horrified by this, and eternally fascinated by the culture, I immersed myself in learning various forms of the craft, favouring Divination, Astrology, and crystal healing. Inking myself thoroughly with symbolism, Tarot cards and celestial nods - even before my family’s roots were revealed to me officially, although it was of course, no surprise. 

 I am keen to pass on these valuable, and somewhat forgotten skills to others.

 

Under the Divine guidance of my Ancestors (I have recently discovered that each of my Grandparents carried a Gypsy surname), who were forced to retreat from their heritage, along with many others.

 

 I wish to revive ancient knowledge, and remind modern society of the incredibly healing, and magical force of nature.
